Georgies classes are offered as personal enrichment classes. Our goal is to help you find success with clay in an easy, friendly atmosphere. The 8-week format goes by quickly, so we have developed a program that focuses on basic skills while you create a project. Projects may have an intended skill focus while allowing lots of wiggle room for creativity. Our classes are small, allowing for lots of personal attention. Wheel classes offer one wheel per student for each class session. All classes are repeatable.
Georgies clay classes are all-inclusive. Your class fee covers instruction, ALL clay, glaze and firing for ware made in class. Additional studio time is available at the Portland store when taking a class at the Portland store. Our classroom studio is open during store hours, 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Saturday. Studio hours are subject to the class schedule. When another class is meeting, studio time is not available. Please check with the Eugene store staff to ask about available studio time in the Eugene classroom.
Please, if you must cancel your registration, call or contact us as soon as possible. We have waiting lists for many of our classes, and your early call allows someone else to attend the class. Cancellations less than 10 days before the class date are not refunded.

Lou Leads Kilnbuilding Workshop July 25-26

Friday-Saturday, July 25-26, SEL530 ($120) Nils Lou is the pre-eminent kiln-building guru in the Pacific Northwest. He developed the Minnesota Flat-Top kiln. We will build a 45-cf car kiln at Georgies' Basic Fire studio in this workshop, very much like the kiln at Linfield College in this photo. This is a HANDS-ON workshop, where you'll help build a working kiln! At the end of the workshop you'll receive a full set of the plans to use again if you wish. If you want to learn from the best, this is THE workshop to attend this summer! |

Have fun with clay as you explore the basic skills of making pottery on the potter’s wheel in our new, expanded 8-week format. Georgies small, personal classes offer each student their own electric wheel during every class session. The right equipment, plus the fun friendly atmosphere and lots of individual attention, will have you making mugs, bowls, and cylinder vase forms in no time. This repeatable class also covers basic glazing skills, which include dipping and brushing with cone 6 electric glazes. |
