Georgies Cascade Glazes are made with careful attention to the details. We monitor our raw materials and fire test samples from every batch before releasing it for sale. Our goal is to make reliable, consistent glazes that are fun and easy to use -- that are also flexible enough to offer a wide variety of color options. How're we doing? Georgies Cascade Lowfire, Stoneware and Sculptural glazes are nontoxic and safe for use at any grade level. Only our Cascade Raku glazes are not recommended for use by students below high school age or in settings where handicapped persons may be unable to read or understand the safety labeling.

Dry Glazes

Georgies offers the uncolored base formula for the Lowfire (PG900s) and Stoneware (PG600s) glazes in dry form. We do not sell our formulated glazes in a dry form. We made this marketing decision several years ago with the health interests of our customers in mind. Dry glaze powders present the greatest health risks due to the possibility of inhaling dust containing free silica crystals or metallic oxides. Because we can't control the conditions of their use or ensure that every customer uses or wears adequate safety equipment to prevent dust inhalation, we chose not to sell them dry.
