The Steve Tool is a texture application tool, reinventing the wheel in a design specifically for clay. Reconfigure the Steve Tool into many variant designs by rearranging the disks in different patterns, spaced with washers & nuts. It doesn't clog easily, so you'll get lots of raw texture.

To use the Steve Tool, throw a cylinder and scrape the side clean with a rib. Roll the texture wheels around the spinning cylinder, while moving up and down the body of the cylinder. After applying texture, form the shape from the INSIDE of the cylinder. You'll see how the texture becomes part of the pottery, and not just applied to the outside. You'll see patterns that mimic flowers, seashells, and mathematical helixes. Stretch the clay until the walls are very thin, and you'll feel the texture come through to the inside of the clay as well. You'll be inspired to try other effects from texture work in combination with the Steve Tool, too!
