Amaco Pompeian Ash Glazes (Cone 6)
Pompeian
Ash glazes have a unique formula that produces a wiggly design pattern as
they flow on the piece. Fire to Cone 5-6 in an electric kiln. The result is
similar to ash glazes for cone 10 reduction firing. These glazes reduce firing
costs and eliminate the exposure to toxic materials that are required with
many Cone 10 formulas. Most of these glazes are leadfree, but all of them are not recommended for dinnerware
due to the nature of the glaze finishes.
