We are really proud of the four members of our crew who will be in Showcase.
Handmade pottery to be enjoyed by the everyday humanoid!
Andrew Kail Studied pottery @ Northern Michigan University before relocating to Portland, Oregon 8 years ago. He is now sole proprietor of Jack Pine Savage Clayworks, has been participating in the OPA Ceramic Showcase for a four years, teaches community classes at Georgies' Ceramics and Clay and sells his wares on Etsy. He strives to create functionality and the beauty in "everyday" pots.
Wil Labelle is originally from the coast of Maine. He began studying ceramics in 2001. He has worked in production potteries both large and small. He has done commissions both private and commercial. He is always looking for new ideas and inspirations to raise the bar of his own production. He produces dishes, wall hangings and sculpture.
I have been a member of the Oregon Potters Association and participated in the Ceramic Showcase for ten years. My main focus is hand building and adding texture to forms. I am currently working on a new body of work and I am very excited about it. Below is a work-in-progress photo. Please stop by my booth to say "Hi" and see my finished pieces!
Christine Oster's stoneware pendants grew out of her love of jewelry, past experiences as a silversmith, and her work with Precious Metal Clay. She began making pieces with stoneware first to practice, and found that those pieces were every bit as beautiful and interesting as the silver ones. Plus, she could add more color to stoneware, which opened up lots of possibilities."
Our online gallery is dedicated to the creativity of artists using Georgies Clays or Glazes (or both!) in their work. We invite you to click through the galleries to enjoy larger images of their creations and visit their websites to see more. If you'd like to share your work in our online gallery, please send your photos for consideration to. And remember to send your artist's statement or biographical info too!
In-Store: Mary Moore
Mary Moore's elongated, handbuilt figures draw your eye upward to the peaceful, serene expressions on their faces. They invite you to join their introspection and contemplation, though they don't say exactly which questions they ponder. In unglazed stoneware with underglaze and sgraffito techniques.
