We Make Clay. Wanna Make Something Of It?
Our clays and glazes are made in Portland (Oregon) with the finest raw materials from all over the country and careful attention to detail and the needs of Northwest clay artists. We monitor the composition of our raw materials and fire sample tiles from each new batch of clay. When the raw materials change, we test the new materials in our own dilatometer to make sure they meet our standards and our clays will still perform. We aim to make the best, most consistent clays on the market, and we stand behind our products.

We make custom clays too. Our expert staff will work with you to identify the raw materials necessary to give the performance you need at the best possible price. We make hundreds of tons of custom clays for our customers each year. Minimum order size is generally about one ton, but varies with final batch size.

Glazes!
We make our glazes with the same careful attention to detail as our clays. Our Stoneware and Sculptural glazes are nontoxic and safe for use at any grade level. Only our Raku glazes are not recommended for use by students below high school age or in settings where handicapped persons may be unable to read or understand the safety labeling.

We do not offer our glazes as dry powders. Inhalation is the fastest, easiest and most common method of exposure to hazardous or toxic materials. We always recommend that anyone working with dry glaze materials use adequate respiratory protection, and it's required for our employees. To avoid the potential health risks to you as well as our crew, and as a socially conscious and environmentally responsible company, we made a strategic decision years ago not to offer our glazes in dry forms.
