We make our glazes with the same careful attention to detail as our clays. Our Stoneware and Sculptural glazes are nontoxic and safe for use at any grade level. Only our Raku glazes are not recommended for use by students below high school age or in settings where handicapped persons may be unable to read or understand the safety labeling.

We offer 54 georgies glazes as dry powders ... but keep in mind:
Inhalation is the fastest, easiest, and most common method of exposure to hazardous or toxic materials. We always recommend that anyone working with dry glaze materials use adequate respiratory protection, and it's required for our employees.

The glazes we have in dry form are sold in 50-57# bags only! The weight varies with the glaze materials. The Raku and Interactive Pigments are not sold in dry form, but our Gloss, Sculptural/Textural, Tie-Dye, and Satin lines all have some dry forms available.

All of our glazes are formulated for brushing. If you want to the glaze that you bought to be more friendly for dipping, you will need to add water and Darvan. Please adjust to a specific gravity of 1.4 - 1.5. Digital Fire is a great resource and Rat City Studios has a great article on measuring the specific gravity of your glaze for a variety of purposes.
