It's an ooey, gooey mess! Use Meltdown to create thick, viscous drips! This glaze is highly mobile and is perfect for creating long vertical droplets and pools of gloop at the base.
Due to its flowing nature, spread a layer of coarse sand (60-65 mesh) on a tray ("cookie") with a lip around the edge to contain the silica. Any gloopy matter that reaches the bottom will simply land on top of the sand. No kiln disasters, no scraping, no chipped ceramics. The tray/cookie must be large enough to catch the drips, contain the silica, and able to fire at the same temperature as your work.
Do not use silica dust/flour (200/325 mesh) on your shelf due to potential respirable health issues. Meltdown is the only glaze that must be used with a sandy shelf or tray.
Georgies will not custom fire pieces using this glaze. Please contact Megan for more information. Sold in Pints only.
